Press Release: BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.0

Oldenburg, 31.01.2017 - With EmbeddedPlatform 2.0, BTC presents a newly developed technology platform which smoothly integrates the established tools BTC EmbeddedTester, BTC EmbeddedSpecifier and BTC EmbeddedValidator into a powerful, Eclipse-based environment. New UI-concepts like use case-specific perspectives and dashboards offer a clean user interface pared with an intuitive usability concept. A complete API as well as a flexible plug-in mechanism allow user- and project-dependent adaptations.

One platform – various test methods

Based on a highly-integrated platform concept, standard test methods like requirements-based testing or back-to-back testing are combined with innovative technologies like model checking, automatic test case generation and formal methods. Other features include an automatic analysis of robustness goals and equivalence classes as well as the generation of debug environments on model- and code-level. One highlight is the automatic code coverage computation which is performed internally and automatically in the background and which not only considers basic criteria like statement- or decision coverage but also advanced metrics like MC/DC or relational operators. This qualifies BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.0 as the best solution for an ISO 26262-compliant software unit test on all ASIL levels.

Integrated with your development tools

BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.0 supports the test of Simulink models as well as ANSI-C code and in particular provides a unique integration with dSPACE TargetLink. For the traceability between test artifacts and requirements, BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.0 offers a direct connection to IBM DOORS and PTC Integrity so that no error prone exchange formats are needed. For integration testing, BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.0 allows the generation of so called RTT observers, which can directly be used as watchdogs on dSPACE HIL-systems and VEOS.
