Release of BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.8
As the 3rd major Release in 2020, the new version BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.8 (incl. BTC EmbeddedTester 4.8, BTC EmbeddedSpecifier 2.8 and BTC EmbeddedValidator 5.8) is now available.
Highlights of this release include:
Redesigned User Interface
The redesigned user interface comes with a flat and modern look which integrates nicely with Windows 10, while still feeling familiar to existing users. In addition, the main windows as well as the editors now feature a Ribbon-style menu bar, giving an intuitive access to many functions which had previously been hidden in context menus.
Integration and automation have always been key at BTC. In addition to the established Matlab API, BTC EmbeddedPlatform 2.8 now comes with a REST API that can be used to control the tool from virtually any environment (Jave. Python, etc.)
By following the OpenAPI standard and thus allowing programatic consumption of the available operations, parameters and return types, this new API constitutes a major milestone for our journey to support new challenges regarding Cloud, Containers and Software-as-a-Service.
We have dramatically enhanced our graphical language for the formal specification of safety requirements and are now calling it "Universal Pattern". One example of the improved flexibility are multiple triggers and actions which can now be used in one specification. This allows the user to formalize more complex requirements which for example are based on a sequence of events.
